A Nightmare Is…

This is a horror children’s book, depicting what a nightmare feels like. It is hand illustrated and includes unconventional typography.

The books idea came from the idea that children’s books don’t always have to happy and colorful. What if instead they were scary. So in this book I hand illustrated a short story I wrote, and got edited, to depict what a nightmare looks like. It includes a monotonous color scheme with a pop color of yellow to intrigue the eye. Overall the concept was made to be understood by children but be horrifying in the process.
